If you live in or around Hobart, the Huon Valley or the Channel why not plan a visit to Cygnet for lunch or morning/afternoon tea? Cygnet has lots of fabulous eateries and the arts and crafts markets are held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.
There is an antique shop as well as gift shops to explore and a brand new sushi bar. A great shoe shop and two wonderful second hand book shops. A small co-op art gallery is also open on weekends and the Richard Stanley Gallery is just up the road. Local potters and sculptors open their studios on the weekend. You can also choose to stay at Cygnet Old Bank or a B&B for the weekend and we highly recommend Beaupre Cottage and Coast House Tasmania but there are plenty more to choose from.
Huon Art Gallery is at 41 Mary Street Cygnet and we are open 10:30 am till 3:30 pm Wednesdays through to Sundays.
With over 100 paintings and some fabulous blown glass works on display Huon Art is unique in its presentation. The artworks (oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastel and mixed media) are showcased in a beautiful historical building that forms part of the history of Cygnet.
We are all about bringing wonderful art home so we look forward to welcoming you soon
